Concert by the Savoy Family followed by a Jam with Backstep They plan honed down, hard-core Cajun music laced with an earthy sensuality. Following their concert, they will demonstrate similarities and differences in their music and the Surry County old-time sound � with Surry County's Backstep Band. The Savoy Family maintains a more acoustic approach to Cajun music. Mark Savoy has received the National Heritage Fellowship Award. Marc and Ann appeared on the PBS series "American Roots" and the list of awards goes on.
