The Elkin Valley Fiddlers By The River begins at 11 a.m. with the Alleghany Jam Kids followed by music sensation Kitty and the Stray Cats, Gaining Ground, Beyond the Blue, Joe Thrift and the Country Store, Luke Mears, the Company Store Band and blues legend John Dee Holeman with Big Ron Hunter. Free admission, small charge to park. Free workshops, food vendors and plenty of family-friendly fun. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Elkin Municipal Park, 399 Hwy 268 W., Elkin.
