Jason: The first time, I took a hit of TX Pete chili peppers, my face did that, too; unfortunately, an acid-reflux diagnosis from 2005 means no more spicy stuff for me.

I'm bidding $1.00 so you will need to sign a liability release and having a Dr on site is probably a good idea you know just in case some anonymous person throat punches you

And btw, sweet and spicy are natural compliments of each other. It's why Mexican food has been pairing chili powder with fruit and chocolate for centuries. My mission lately has been to find a good Molé

I can handle more heat if there is flavor with it. I don't understand the appeal for soaking stuff in hot sauce just to make it hot. But what I really don't get is even with flavor, eating spicy stuff until it's painful just to see if you can. At that point flavor or not, you aren't tasting anything. You are just hurting.

Aficionados, I enjoy food, too (maybe too much), but in the last few years I've developed an appreciation for heat. I don't really like "hot for the sake of being hot", though; I like it when the flavors balance.
For example, Prime Thai has two sweet dishes (Gai Krob and Gai Bangkok) that are really too sweet for me by themselves, but when you crank up the heat to offset the sweet... awesome
Satan... maybe we should take bids?

Some people enjoy being handcuffed and whipped, everyone has different tastes and ideas of pleasure.

Why? I enjoy food. I want dining to be a pleasurable experience. What is the appeal to making it painful?

I figured some of the people on here that like to smack-talk me would jump at the chance to beat me publicly... it's only $5, so no need to wimp out!!

Exactly, they're bringing out spicy noodles for all of the challengers, and whomever can last the longest without drinking anything wins. So beer is an option, but if you drink then you lose :(
There's a banner ad running for it with the details. It's this Saturday at 5pm, at Prime Thai in Elkin. Registration is only $5.
Punching me in the throat will cost extra...
Farmer, I tried the Carolina Reaper in a mix of other peppers with some beef jerky, but I don't think that's really the same. I've eaten Ghost Pepper wings from Tiptons, and I think that's the hottest I've ever had. I don't know what they're planning with the noodles... something sadistic is my guess
