On June 6th Leroy O'Dell Boles of Alaska was arrested by the Elkin Police Department after he struck a pedestrian who was assisting others crossing the street in a cross walk during a protest organized by Yadkin Valley Community Matters. The incident happened at the intersection of Main Street and Bridge Street. After the collision Mr. Boles exited his vehicle with a firearm which he held by his side and engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim. Officers of the Elkin Police Department arrived on scene as the incident was unfolding and Mr. Boles was quickly arrested. The victim of the incident did not report any injuries but there was damage to Mr. Boles' vehicle from the collision.

Mr. Boles was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill (NCGS §14-32, a class E felony), going armed to the terror of the public (NCGS §14-35.5, a misdemeanor), failure to yield to pedestrian (NCGS §20-155 (c), an infraction). Mr. Boles was taken before a Surry County Magistrate and given a $60,000 secured bond and transported to the Surry County Jail.

The Elkin Police Department would like to thank the other agencies that assisted us today, including the Elkin Fire Department, the Surry County Sheriff's Office, the Jonesville Police Department, and Surry County Emergency Services.

Mich, as a witness, did you see someone throw a bottle at the feller with the gun ?

Imagine if the protester had been carrying a gun, and pulled it out to protect himself. This would have escalated very badly.

I would bet that the Billy **** with the gun was just trying to make headlines, though.

Not sure where you have been but I denounced that from the start

Wrong again. You do not have the right to attempt to harm someone that is no threat to you, and there are hundreds of witnesses that will be willing to put that guy were he belongs.

So I'm guessing you are ready to denounce the rioters that are smacking people around, destroying cars, businesses and other property?

Probably like most people that fantasize about shooting people, he probably grabbed the gun out of rage but wasn't ready to pull trigger if I had to guess Foxy.

Here's hoping he isn't from around here. Take his guns and car and ship him back to Alaska.

After he's served time, of course.

In the pictures he seemed to be the same race as his victim

He don't appear to be too bright. He got too close to his target with his gun still down by his leg. Lots of men would have made him eat that handgun.

Or he's just a racist that was inconvenienced. He had Alaska plates.

Obviously that guy has some sort of mental issues. Not that that's an excuse, but he's unstable. Don't see how he should have either a driver's license or a license for a gun.

There was a mob ready to approach the man. The guy that was hit did a good job reminding people why they were there to protest and that violence wasn't needed. All while militia man stood staring him down with a gun.

Real leftists would have beat the man down even though he did have a gun. I don't think they threw one water bottle full of pp at the cops.
