Wilkes Central Jr Pee Wee's beat Yadkinville 20-0 in 1st Round action today.

I agree 1yadkin. I know that it is going to one individual and that the Yadkin teams aren't profiting. I have heard that it is easier for them to get new equipment than it is for any of the other teams.

This money that is coming to Yadkin County is not coming to any of the football clubs it all goes to one person and it is time to get out from under his reign.

With the amount of money that we are sending to Yadkin County through Sertoma, it would be feasible to start football at the middle schools. A coworker and I have done some number crunching. Based on the gate money alone that is sent to Yadkin County, a good chunk could be put away for a middle school program. It costs our schools every time there is a home game because of power and paper products.

I would like to see all 4 Wilkes County teams get out of Sertoma. 90% of the money leaves our county, the rules do not help build our programs and lots of our kids are providing their own equipment because the Sertoma issued equipment isn't good.

I will say this fatboy....a few people involved with east sertoma have expressed wanting to leave the sertoma league in the past. things have been carried out differently from year to year somtimes. I personally have coached, and watched from the sidelines for over 15 years ,all the sertoma games my kids have been a part of and most years they were not involved.

I will say that my son is in the eighth grade, and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching him play the last six years. He has had some of the best coaching available to him. His teams have had only one losing season. I wish everyone involved with youth football could hear the pep talks from his coaches! Football is more than x's and o's, sometimes it's about building character,and building team concepts.

We have been fortunate that he has been able to grow and flourish within his own little part of school!

I could only hope that all kids his age could play the great sport of football!

I agree with stratos....the money it would take to start a middle school program in wilkes would be a large undertaking. I would like to see some money gave to the schools to buy some better helmets for the varsity and jv teams....

Its not about West, North, East, Ashe, Elkin or any of the Yadkin teams as a whole....its supposed to be about the kids....NOT YOU, not me, not Sertoma and definitely not the refs.

Fatboy you hit the nail on the head with this statement along with everything else you stated. The schedule, playoff picture and rules should be set before the season and followed to perfection. I've saw it for years now and nothing is ever the same. You have teams not following the weight limit rules, changing players numbers from one game to the next, one set of refs calling a certain play one way then another says its illegal etc. Then when you say something about it to the Sertoma Directors they say what do you want me to do about it. Duh you should look at the game film then exercise some sort of disipline. Whether it be forfeit of the game or the whole season. I also feel any coach who does these types of things should never be allowed to coach again. Your not setting a good example for any team besides saying you need to cheat in life if you want to succeed!!!! I never have nor never will drop to that level. Hold your head up Fatboy you are not alone.

One more fact it has been looked into and it will take between $8,000-$10,000 per school to start a new program and we all know the school system don't have that type of revenue with this economy. I hate to say it but Sertoma will be around again next year. Just my opinion unless one of the counties many millionaires would make a much needed donation....

It's not about West or East. East people wanted out last year. Ask around, some of your east people still want out. They were leading the charge. All anyone can ask for is 1 set of rules, set in stone, a schedule before the 1st week of games and stick to it. Fatboy is just telling it like it is.

With that said, good luck to East in the playoffs as well as Ashe, North and Central Wilkes. All 4 teams earned their right to be where they are after the schedule change. I would love nothing more than to have an all Wilkes Championship game.

YOU talk smack to me about talking junk about refs or kicking everyones tail, but feel free to go back and look at any post Ive EVER put on gowilkes. NOTHING has ever been said by me where I was talking junk about refs....maybe stating the truth, but never junk talk and I have NEVER gotten on here and talked smack about kicking anyones tail....unlike your posts. Yadkinville Sertoma is a joke and is ran pitifully. I hope that each team including the Yadkin teams decide to disban from the Collins' after this season....and from what Ive been told from Yadkin coaches, they are. This league could be a great league if it had leadership at the helm instead of follks who try to line their own pockets. They make up rules and decisions as they go instead of having a set list of rules and regulations to adhere to. I have a feeling that next year, Yadkin Sertoma football league will not exhist. The game is Monday @ 7:00 @ Ashe Middle School.

It may of had changed. This happens every year, the Sertoma League needs to set confirmed dates and times for all games including playoff and Superbowl games. The schedule needs to be set at the beginning of the year and then they would be not questions or mix ups. I guess that I am preaching to the choir!!

It was announced after the game that it would be held at 7:00pm next Monday at Ashe.

Yea, I agree. Traveled up the mountain for this match up last night. Ashe counties defensive ends played a great game and gave West fits on the outside. It was really a hard hitting game between 2 good football teams. Fun to watch!! Ashe has quiet the following this year, probably more people there than at their varsity games. Probably has to do with the fact their high school teams are down....waayyyy down. When

does Ashe play Central....I'm assuming Saturday sometime? Anyone know a time yet??

A good defensive ball game. Both teams played well, Ashe should have no problem winning it all this year.
