How does a post about a boys basketball coach come back to Coach Shumate? There's a difference between Shumate and Behrens. Shumate built her program. Started out on bottom and went to the top. Behrens started out on top and went to the bottom. It doesn't take a brain to figure that out.

no he shouldnt be fired. thats crazy! wendy shumate had winless season her first yr. if it were up to you, she wouldve been fired after one year.

I do not care who you are. 0-23 and 0-14 you need to go. North would be best served if a new coach was found for next year. Anytime you can not win one game, you need to go.

If that is true, then she should have been held accountable for it. Like them or not, the AD and the principal are the boss. Honestly there is no one except the AD/Principal and the coach that know what happened. The rest including me would be speculating and there is no real reason to do that. Obviously there were issues that could not be resolved and she chose to leave, why or what these issues were, I have no idea. Best of luck to all the programs at North as they try to move forward. Might be helpful if we could let them.

Heard that Shumate broke few rules including some county rules. She wanted do stuff her way and go over the heads of others.

The principal and AD/boys basketball coach know what they did to the coach. They know how they treated her. They had an agenda. No one would want to deal with what she dealt with at North Wilkes. We'll leave it at that. I wish them luck and sweet dreams.

The current principal has not fired any coaches. I don't understand the argument. The girls former basketball coach resigned, not fired.

Old Blue Ridge, I'm getting bored with this too. I wanted to expose what we have going on at North Wilkes. If this is what the parents want to settle for then so be it. I'm tired of principal's being able to go into schools with their own agendas and make changes to meet their own selfish desires then move along. The principal at North Wilkes and her husband talk all the time about the one principal that did her husband " so wrong" a few years ago. Now, she can't say a word about her. She is in the same category, but worse, so she can live with that. As far the boys coach, time will take care of that.

There you go guys. Bojangle has spoken and cleared everything up. Everyone please adhere to his recommendations.LOL. I think there is enough business being minded on both sides with all due respect. Bojangle I am sorry to tell you, but this is a chat board, and if she continues to bash Behrens and the principal, there will probably be people that will take exception.
Personally I would love to see this conversation go away, it has gotten way too personal at times.

Everyone should listen to Lady Vikings. She knows what she's talking about and i agree 100%. Everyone else has no idea what is going on up at north and needs to mind their own business.

Don't worry about it Humble. You don't know anything. I think Behrens has his whole family responding and has about 50 screen names. Now, that's pretty pathetic. I feel sorry for his players. They are good guys and deserve better.
