Good game Saturday between N.Wilkes and Forbush...the game was definitely North's to lose. Somewhat suspect play calling toward the end of the game was North's undoing. Instead of going up 26 14..they turnover on downs..deep in the redzone...and then give up 3 or 4 big runs to the Johnson kid for a td. Norths D held them in check all game..and folded like a lawn chair when it counted the most...Great effort however..both squads..Forbush cb's and safeties got ATE ALIVE!!!

Mvac is actually more balanced..So not quiet as pathetic...and remember...the mvac had a representative in the 1aa state championship..and a finalist in the 1a western regionals..im sure your conference did well too...now moving on..

West Wilkes BYE Starmount BYE Ashe BYE Surry Central vs Wilkes Central (Dub-C Rolls through another easy non-conference game, 3-0 start) Elkin @ Mt.Airy (Another beat down, Elkin 0-3) East WIlkes BYE ( Tied for the best scoring offense in the conference and only giving up 14. May be a surprise in the making) Bishop McGuinness @ Alleghany ( Starting 0-3) Forbush @ North Wilkes (Without Boles the vikings are hurting and starting 0-3 as well)
The conference is down this year and the numbers show it. As a conference we have scored 342 points while giving up a whopping 489 points. The conference is up for grabs this years as powerhouse programs appear to be on the slide this year (at least in the non-conference).
What's your opinion....who's gonna take it in 2015 and have the inside track to another potential state championship!!!! hahahahahah!!

West @ Pine Lake Prep ( West starts the season 1-1) Starmount @ East Surry ( Starmount 0-2 to start the season) Watauga @ Ashe (Ashe may be 0-2 to start as well, Watauga with A.Dobbins is tough) West Iredell @ Wilkes Central (Dub C starts 2-0) Elkin @ North Surry ( N. Surry will score 60 on Elkin) East Wilkes @ Surry Central (Should be a good game) Alleghany @ Grayson Co.(Who knows and or cares) North Wilkes @ South Stokes (North gets killed again)

That's true. The only thing Starmount is good at is football and that's with Forbush support and reinforcements and the one for one swaps and sometimes multi player trades they make with Elkin. Don't know anyone who thinks central is going to win state. Most of us just want to see the potential of the program realised and come out and support the kids and school. I do think the team should be much improves this year but I still expect Starmount to win conference.

The Wilkes County Championship is a joke. Pretty much everyone will admit that but anytime they other county schools beat Central it's a huge deal for them...kinda like Starmount and Elkin talking about their championships almost 20 years ago as if anyone Is impressed. When you have a school in yadkin county that takes all the good players from the other county school and trades players with their other rival across the river you are bound to be good in 1a.

Why is anyone Excited about Wilkes County Football. Its it because of the Mythical Wilkes County State Championship if one Wilkes County teams happens to beat all the other Wilkes County Teams.

I can't believe it's already football season. This year should be pretty exciting, I know everyone in Miller's Creek is excited!! So here are the week 1 Non Conference matchups for the conference, weigh in with predictions, player updates and any smack that you feel needs to be talked!!! I know the Central fans will do it anyway hahahahah!! Good Luck to all the teams this year and I hope everyone stays healthy and competitive!
