"Your other option is to play with the **** on the Mulberry YellowJackets team. "

Yeah now lets stoop low enough to make fun of a child's economic class!?! SMH!!! But I guess thats why good ol' Mr. Collins didn't have any use for them... he had a harder time robbing the poor. LOL!!!

you can say what you want to say but the team my son plays for is fair.

Sertoma is still the better option for youth football in Wilkes. Your other option is to play with the **** on the Mulberry YellowJackets team. They don't even play on the high school football fields. I think they play in a old cow pasture over near the VFW or cattle sale.

jeania harris if you look deep enough you may find some change in that couch.

my son plays, this is his 1st year, they told me that most the time the 1st yr kids dont get to play that much cause they are just learning so that way they dont get hurt, unless they show during pratice that they are into learning the game and are there for every pratice.i have seen some kids just play around during pratice and not paying any attention to what is beening taught, those are the 1s that dont get to play, like some1 said on here those kids are there for a babysitter.like i said these is my sons 1st year playing and his head is in the game not goofing off and he gets to play every game not the whole game but he does gets to play,so before you start judging the couches you need to look deeper into it and see which kids are wanting to learn the game and which 1s are just there cause there parents want a babysitter, you will see which is which.

Do high schools cut football players though? I didn't think that they did. I thought everyone made the team, but not everyone plays....

That's my point titus. That stuff stops at high school. High school coaches play to win. The key is just supporting your child enough to make him want to continue to high school and still have that desire to play.

Daddyball, that's funny. I had the same issue when my son was younger. He was the fastest player on the team but he hardly ever got to play. The coaches son played both sides of the ball. Ironically when he got to high school the coaches son wasnt even good enough to make the team (surprise). I used it s a teachable moment to illustrate that the world isnt fair. I understand that the coaches are gonna make their kids the QB's and RB's that's just the way it is but I wish they would at least let some of the other kids play instead of having them on offense AND defense.

lol- I see. Good clarification. It's good advice to try to remember that these are kids. Guide them. Brag on them when they do good and instruct them when they don't. You can't play the game for them. So let them earn their playing time on their own. Most coaches really do want to win. That means putting the players on the field that are the best. I know that's not what parents want to hear and it just doesn't seem fair, but that's the way it works. Give your child what they need to be the best and step out of their way. Discipline goes a lot farther in football then size and roughness believe it or not. I pulled eleven years of football duty and my son played /started every year. Not because he was the biggest or roughest. Not because my husband or I kept our nose in the coaches business (the coaches only know us from quietly watching practice), but because he was dedicated and disciplined. Let your child earn their time on their own and they will go farther.

I said my child is rough not tough

Everybody claims my son does this and that but another kid was kicked off the team for hurting my son. So what my son runs around being rough... this is tackle football. I see the coaches stepped their game up yesterday :)

This is confusing. Did your son hurt someone because he was so tough in tackle football or did he get hurt because he was so tough? How old are these kids? How rough and tough are you really at 5 and 6 grade level? Sit tight guys. Chill out on the coaches and the kids. If your in it for the long haul (high school) you got some lessons to learn.

My son plays for this team too and one player is way too wild. Jaiden didn't get to play at the game Saturday because we had to leave practice early all last week but I am hoping he will play this game. But to the op if you would control your kid he would be able to do more. It is obvious you don't have any control considering you normally have to get out on the field yourself.

I do not believe he was kicked off, I myself do not know but. I feel that a coach kicking a kid off the team I don't forsee that happening. I also don't believe everyone is pointing fingers at your child you seem to be pointing the finger at the coaches but they obviously arent doing a bad job cause you took your child back y

The kids most of these parents are talking about never cussed the coaches. The head coach for Sertoma first and second graders tells the kids every week they need to show up to practices, work hard and, pay attention to play on game day. This is nothing but an outright lie as most times during practice it is his son and the other coaches kids who are doing up-downs for fooling around but guess what happens come game day.

My child plays and if hes not on ur team moneymaker and I know who u are which is sad, lol bit if ur coach is SO bad why did you bring your child back to practice yesterday? Just had to out outtheethrow that

moneymaker123, if your kid was using profanity toward the coach then I do not believe he should be able to play. Getting on this public forum and bashing the coach is no way to handle this. If what the coach is saying is true, I think your kid owes him an appology.

Exactly brad from my experience parents want to bring there kids out for coches to baby sit and it don't do nothing but hurt the kids that are there trying to learn,or they want show up for practice all week and think they can play . And another thing I think coches should teach them that it is in important to win no matter what age group or how old but also teach them win are lose as long as they tried there best that's all people can ask of them but if the kids want listen put someone in that will don't let them think they can treat people the way they want and get treated fair and parents give coaching a try I promise you'll change your tune.
