chendo (view profile) Posted 12:05 am, 08/05/2014 What is a powerband?
If you're thinking Judas Priest you've got it all wrong.

Look at bolt pattern under the cars, then match it up to a 9" inch ford rear end bolt pattern. Ask the guys at a race shop next time if it s a 9" inch ford design rear end. Not that it matters , but I'm just saying

They run rockwells. Ask Rockwell who supplies the rear ends.

Think they should run factory body's, with roll cages and each team should run 2 cars per team, with no satellite teams. Each car company give = backing to each team car. If ford, chevy, dodge, Toyota, win so be it. Right now there like 3 engine builders , 3-4 top teams . Means all teams have same hp and powerbands in engine & same body's. Think we all agree , racing would be better.

They all run ford rearends and transmissions, go to race shop ask the guys who work on them. I asked , they told me to tell anybody to climb under back of car look for self. Look at bolt pattern. 9"inch ford rear end, 4 speed ford toploader transmissions in them. Now they been updated with stronger parts, but the design is fords. But nothing stock about ,ford , chevy, or dodge, toyota. The body's are same which makes racing suck

Sometimes on a Sunday afternoon, I watch a race from the 60's or 70's and drink 17-18 cans of Miller High Life.

I remember a story about two old school drivers (can't remember now which ones) destroying two brand new four wheelers racing them through the woods. They would race anything with wheels. These guys now race on Xbox in their spare time.
