LOL. No, I spend most of my Fridays watching real prep football, not this mountain football garbage you all like to brag about.
Anyway, I have lived here long enough to realize this is the first time East Wilkes has been this relevant in 2 decades. But congrats on being awesome compared to 7 other teams!

I'm here....always here!! That was a bigger upset than the Panthers beating the Seahawks yesterday. Evidently East played a good game to get the win. Props to you guys, seriously!! Good win!! I'm sure the confidence is as high as it has ever been at East High. Good luck at Starmount on Friday!! I heard that Ashe had several injuries to key players which may or may not have affected the outcome....either way East got the W.

I'd say that they will have Billy and Bob running the lights again when Central comes to town!! That won't be the case when you come to Miller's Creek!

...because he was DQ'd and Blevins was nowhere to be found in regional where Bynum placed top 3 in the 100 a 200. Blevins is a great runner though, one of the best, but as a junior Bynum was better

Actually Jacob Blevins from achs won the 100m in the conference last year. Bynum won the 200m.

Ashe football is a little down this year for sure. Lost way too much talent from last years team. And jj77 if you look past the soccer and bball teams. I seem to remember track did pretty good last year. Conf champs and runner up (boys and girls). And had few sprinters no wilkes kid could come close to beating.

Teacher...trust me im very professional and have several spelling bees under my belt..however if i choose to use slang...and run on or sentence fragments....thats my business...its up to you to choose the correct interpretation or not..i could care less brother...now read on or move on....

I haven't lived in the area long, but there is no doubt that anywhere in this area is better than Wilkes County. I've seen nicer places in Sparta than anywhere in Wilkes. And that's sad.

WC has been to the 3rd round twice since 2007 if I'm not mistaken and multiple times to the 2nd round.

TTFTO your 942 student school may have beat the smaller school the other week but looking at the NCHSAA playoff brackets for the past 8 years neither school has been to the state championship game. However the smaller guys have made it to the 3rd round more than once which is a round where the big school was never listed. Yeah a 51-7 defeat on the road is bad but doesn't seem quite as bad as a 67-14 beating at home...
