Old blue you made an excellent point. It's weak administration that's the problem. They need to raise the bar with their requirements to be in school administration. In the business world you actually have to demonstrate leadership qualities to be the CEO. The school system is the dirtiest organization that I have ever seen when they should be the most upstanding. Sickening really.

Big Show, Sorry to inform you that most of us on here are not Ashe County fans, yet whether you like it or not we have an opinion about Ashe County athletics. The day that they decided to be the poster child for exactly what is wrong with Americas youth today, is the day that they opened themselves up to criticism and ridicule. It became very difficult to pull for Ashe County based on what happened, and I for one will not let up. The reminders need to be relentless. Allowing the kids to run the team is one thing that can NEVER happen and that is exactly what occurred.

I just hope that the parents are happy now. Still losing .

My "facts" we're not intended to be real, only a sarcadtic remark. My point was to stay off Ashe, Central or who ever BigBlueFan hates and deal with North Wilkes' issues first. I hate you felt the need to do so much research TooMuch.

Yes, Too Much, Behrens is such a great coach. Thanks for pointing that out😉. He's built such a winning program at North Wilkes. Wow! Let's not get carried away.

U need to get the facts right, first Ashe and North hasn't played against each other 50 tries, North beat Ashe in 2015-16 Jan. 5th @ Ashe County 52-51, 2013-2014- Jan. 8th @ Ashe 60-59 2OT, 2012-2013- Feb. 8th @ North 54-40, 2010-2011- Dec. 21st @ Ashe County 68-60, Dec. 29th 54-53 in Frank Spencer Tour., 2009-10 Feb 13th @ Ashe County 72-62. Most of the wins coming from under the current coach at North.

Bigshow, no hatred here. I was merely pointing out an observation. I just hate to see the politics cause a good program to go down hill. The girls basketball program at North is the only winning program in the whole school so North has lots they can improve on. Unfortunately, politics runs that school as well. I had thought Ashe was different. This is one of those things that will not work itself out. I'm afraid to say, it could be the beginning of the end for Ashe boys basketball.

Four wins on top of the hill for Big Blue! Where is Scott Grubb when you need him? The one player who lost his mind should not be on the team. He must have been one of the three who got Grubb fired? Well, that is what Ashe County wanted so that is what Ashe County gets!

It's obvious that the Ashe County Boys Basketball program is serious trouble. The players have no discipline. Maybe that's the result of the administration letting them run the show. When they make a mistake they jog back down the floor. Players getting technicals. It was the worst display of basketball I've seen in a while. They are a mediocre team at best. Ashe has no fans either. Bleachers were almost empty. They used to have a good student section. Sad to see.

Look out Colvard, they will be coming for you now.

I don't know if the Ashe players got yelled at or not. But they should have since they took the second half off and quit playing.

Let your boy grow up to be a man, not a baby. He may have to take care of his family one day. Not sure he can if you have to fight all of his little battles. Geez. Get real. This is what is wrong in our society...whimpy.

Sorry potty mouth, but when you are the coach, it is necessary to tell your little Johnny that he is not perfect, and because he is probably a spoiled brat, the coach will probably have to raise his voice to do it. If your criteria for being a bad coach is yelling at the players, then their will never be a good one.

Did Colvard yell at the players, and treat them with disrespect?

Huskies got destroyed tonight. Will the parents demand the resignation of Colvard now?

Keep in mind...Elkin was the only conference team that Grubb coached against. Payne coached the Huskies against Starmount. New guy (JV coach) coached against Alleghany. Either way they are in 1st place 3-0. Huskies have the talent to win the conference.

My predictions are:

2. West
3. Alleghany
4. WC
5. North
6. Starmount
7. East
8. Elkin

Well Coach Grubb was doing something right, got the Huskies in first place in conference so far. Let's see if the Huskies stay in first place.

If Coach Grubb goes somewhere else and get a head basketball job, like to see that team against Ashe and see who come out has a winner. If Ashe loses the parents and other people be upset cause didn't keep Grubb.

Only thing here is Ashe County loss a good coach.

I still think it's pretty comical that up until now, it was only the crappy players that quit. Once two of the better players on this year's team wanted to walk out, that's when something changes.
