She not only recovered from knee surgery 2 years ago and blazed a trail right into the top-20 all time at the college as a redshirt freshman (18:34 5k), but now has been recognized as 1 of only 19 student athletes of all the athletes in any of the fall sports to have maintained a 4.0 grade average in the entire Southern Conference. Named to Academic All-Southern Conference team. Folks, she studies Chemistry and has a 4.0 through all semesters. Her 18:34 at the Southern Conference Championship back on Halloween very nearly gained her recognition on the conference all-freshman team (just seconds off that). She also finds herself as the top returning distance runner on the team for the 2015-16 seasons. She's in her sophomore year chronologically, but is a redshirt freshman athletically and technically is a Junior already academically. Inspirational student and athlete.
