Clean it up----- don't know which unc team will show up lol. But about all unc / dook games come down to the wire. Putting the rival trash talk away for a minute lol, congratulations to dook & coach k and to you clean it up & other dook fans, 1000 games is a milestone. If Duke plays like they did today the tarholes will mop the floor with them. That kills me to say that but it's true.

By bandit thinking DUKE needs to cut 351 wins or more from overall record. From 1905-1939 - he don't count anything cause ncaa wasn't involved. Plus take away 1938 conference championship. They don't count .if everyone goes by bandits way of thinking

Duke was actually in the top 10 in most wins ever when K took over in 1980.

Bandit---- again it's a helms national championship title. Again. 26-0 record that season. Not unc or Kansas or anybody else problem dook sucked for 90 years before winning big. Ncaa didnt come in to basketball till 1939. By your way of thinking why should schools count wins and losses before 1939? Easy thing to know why dook don't claim a helms title= because there teams weren't good enough to be awarded one. Also unc had 2 undefeated seasons. Basketball was a sport before 1991 believe it or not, I know 90% of dook fans think game started in 1991. So yes unc has 6 titles, 1=helms 5 ncaa,titles.

And, no, I'm not jealous, I just think pretending like it's a real championship like unc and Kansas do is pathetic. I think those 2 schools are the only ones out of about 40 that claim it as a national championship.

Clean it up------ I'll gladly take 6 national championships 1=helms 5= ncaa titles over DUKE =, 4 ncaa titles-----18 final fours to dook 15 final fours. Unc has more overall wins than dook, leads dook by close to 30 games or more in head to head series. More nba greats , Yea I'm ok

And when Dean took over at Carolina, they were on probation. NC State had the preeminent program in the conference at that time, led by Everett Case, and Duke was right behind the Pack, led by Case disciple, Vic Bubas.

Duke has a long and historic basketball pedigree, one that was in place before the rat came to Durham. He has enhanced that existing reputation, no question. But it was still a "basketball" school.

1,000 wins is quite an achievement, however, so good for him. Imagine if he hadn't taken off the 1994-95 year with a back ache; he'd already have passed that number.

Those 2 final 4s you refer to there was 8 teams....lol soooo not sure how much that really counts.. foster the previous coach had mediocrity success believe he was around 110 and 60.....not bad if your in the nfl but works out to be around 17 and 11 around average....certainly not the premier standard coach k set or wooden and smith inherited.

In the 60's you had to win the conference to get in the tournament. Also, there were only 3 coaches before Wooden who combined for a 286 - 283 record. No one disputes K is good, but he did not take over Lenoir Rhyne and make a powehouse out of them either. It could be argued that Bill Foster gave Duke enough recognition nationally and enabled Coach K to recruit the way he did. If he was what some make him out to be, Army would have a few banners hanging in the rafters.
