You are right oldblueridge, the parents are the problem here. They think their kids can do no wrong and they are college material. Coaches want to win as much or more than anyone, so they are going to play the best players.. Parents just want their kid to be the star weather they are the best or not. Kids go home and complain and it is always the coaches fault. The parents need to grow up and hold your kids responsible. These days if you are tough on a kid they go home and cry, that is what their parents have taught them. Parents grow up or shut up

You gotta love the parents and fans of ACHS. You have been lucky enough to have 2 of your own that wanted to come back and coach in the school system where they played. Are they perfect? Heck no and neither are you. Both of the individuals mentioned have the best interest of Ashe County kids at heart. You ran off a dang good basketball coach, and now you want to start on the football guy. Damdest bunch I have ever seen. I had been hoping that this was just a select group of parents and when they graduated everything would get better. I hope I am right or an athletic program will surely go down the drain.

How long does it take for ignorant people to accept they are not in charge and encourage a team rather than complain about the coach? Unless this so called TryToFimdTheOne is so educated in the football program at Ashe High, they can make such a statement that the sole reason of fewer players is the coach. And what resources this individual must have to be so knowledgeable on the decline in players. From the looks of Wednesday evenings scrimmage, the team looks well coached and motivated to play. Hopefully the time will come when all these so called experts giving their bull**** opinions on Ashe's head coach will learn they are in the dark. Best of luck to the team and coaching staff this year, your going to need it, considering the expert in the matter!Go Huskies!!!

How long will it take before the powers that be Ashe County High School figure out that the reason we only have 20 something players on a 2AA VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM is because of the coach. He has a way of alienating certain kids who aren't his favorites and certainly doesn't treat all the kids with the same level of respect and loyalty. If your not the starting QB or star WR you not worth his time to coach. If you look at the number of kids on the roster at ACHS they have steadily declined every year of his reign. It's not hard to figure out why, if he would try to motivate ALL the kids (Talented or not so talented) he would create an infectious environment where kids would be lining up to play for him. Instead he has to continually rape the JV program just to have enough kids to field a team on Friday night!! This kind of attitude towards the kids will come back to haunt him and it's close to happening now. Good Luck in the 2016 season Huskies you're going to need it!!!!
