Elkin is a deadly place to drive.

Elkin police and the NC Highway Patrol are investigating a deadly crash along CC Camp Rd. near Interstate 77. According to the chief of police, 2 victims died in the crash and at least one person was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Drivers are asked to use caution in the area as all of the east bound lanes are blocked. Drivers must slowly pass through the center turn lane. These fatalities bring the total number of motor vehicle-related fatalities to 4 in less than a week for the city.
