It does seem to be up to date now. There was a 5-6 week period where the headline never changed and if you clicked on the Tribune link the front page stories were 2+ Years old. 3WC does a good job with local news over in Wilkes. There just isnt that same option here.

On my end, the current news is showing what looks to be up to date. Is this not what you guys are seeing?

There's no denying that up-to-date news is a real obstacle in more rural areas. In some counties, there simply isn't a newspaper option, so we're forced to bring in a news source from a nearby county. Or, worse, there might be a newspaper, but they only update once every week or two.

i so agree with the need for news. I have been wanting info about home invasions/arrests in Jonesville. I cannot find news ANYWHERE. We would really like a source for local news.

About the only other newspaper in the area is the Mt Airy Papar... Unsure if its a better choice really...

Maybe it's just a case of a "bad link". The direct elkintribune website now offers "news" that is less than two years old. But the same top story keeps appearing on the GoSurry page. 3WC does a good job on GoWilkes, wish there was a similar option for Surry.

I'm not married to the Elkin Tribune. If you guys have another local suggestion, I'm open to it.

GoSurry needs a new & improved local news source on the frontpage. Events that happened two weeks or more in the past aren't news, they are History. If you click the Tribune link and look at the crime reports or busniess news on Page 1 you'll find they are TWO YEARS OLD!! That's pretty unbelievable (but true). There's an old saying that "No news is godo news" but in the case of the Tribune on GoSurry "No News is Wasted Space"
