has anyone ever worked for heritage care assisted living in elkin?

been there many times for visits. They need Lisa Ladd back and the place would not be so nasty and smelly. The residents were cleaner and happier when Lisa, Donna, Tamela, and Melinda were there and that is what they need again.

Wow I have an interview there tomorrow now I'm not so sure I wanna go..I know I didn't see any staff except for office when I went in today there was no one up front to tell me where to go and residents were just sitting by the door in wheelchairs looking sad..it did smell really strong of urine as well but I figured it may be someone needing changing..

Now it's called Elkin Assisted Living. And NO you don't want to go there. The employees don't do ANYTHING for those residents. Everyone they hire quits because other employees runs them off!!! That's why they don't have many working there right now. They also lost alot of residents. Within a year they had like 55 residents now they don't even have 30.

yep they have cockroaches there and the people don't get a bath like they should. it smells like urine all the time. i had a relative there for about a month and needless to say they are not there now.

I have never worked there but have visited residents there many times and could not agree more with your observations.

The physical state of some of our seniors is certainly sad and unfortunately a fact of life for some. There is no acceptable excuse for bad sanitary conditions. There are several similar facilities in this area (Wilkes/Surry/Yadkin) that are very well maintained, bright, as cheerful as possible and absolutley odor-free.

I do not understand the reply post. If by "getting someone in office that can turn it around" is speaking to the management of this particular facility, then I probably agree. This place has a longstanding reputation of being smelly and depressing. If other facilities are not this way (and all aren't) then surely a management/ownership change is long overdue. If "getting someone in office that can turn it around" is in reference to some elected official then that is downright hilarious. The expectation that an elected official, whether a county commissioner or POTUS or any office in between can or will eradicate the aroma of urine at a privately run nursing home, I sure hope those thinking that way stay home election day.
