We do all of our shopping at the Elkin Wal Mart but I have to say that Wilkesboro has a better selection of clothes. They get picked over too fast in Elkin or they don't stock enough, not sure which, but Wilkesboro keeps theirs neater.

Clean it up (view profile) | Cynic so you're saying the tide I buy from Wal-Mart isn't as good as the tide walgreens or Kroger or anybody else sells? Lol
|
I don't use Tide, I use Purex. But I know that I bought Purex at Food Lion last week for $2.97, and the same size container is at Wal*mart for $6.97. My point, though, was that most people shop at Wal*mart for the low end Equate and Great Value lines, thinking it's the same as the brand names, when it's not. This is where people end up spending more in the long run. Wal*mart has faced countless lawsuits for deceptive marketing practices. Just in the last few months, they've been sued for putting 1lb of product in a 2lb container, making weaker Equate brand medicine look like the stronger brand name, marketing juice as 100% when it's not, marketing milk as lactose-free when it's not, and so on - http://www.organicauthority...-big-food/http://howardjustice.com/20...store-inc/

Wal-Mart saves people money on stuff they use everyday in their life. And the last time I checked Wal-Mart forces no one to work there.
I'll always shop there to save money.

A micro Walmart on 2nd St. Hill would be good. They could have 1 of everything the big one has and the fights would create a new reality tv show.

Lets see. I can go to Wilkesboro and get oral sex, a stabbing and a gun shot or go to Elkin and hear the employees telling customers how much they have to do and are so overworked and not enough time to sleep before next shift or go to another store. One great thing about working out of town is never having to shop our wally's

Wal*mart is a suckers choice for the lower economic class, and ends up keeping those people poor. I'm not saying that to mean, but it's true.
You buy a chair for $100, where at a local shop it's $200. You think you save money. But in a year, that chair has fallen apart, so you buy a new chair. Now you have $200 invested. In a year, that chair has fallen apart, too, so you buy a new chair. Now you have $300 invested.
But if you had bought the better chair from the local shop for $200, you would still have it.
That's just one example. Food, pet food, clothes, laundry detergent, everything is this way. Count it up, and over a year you'll have spent more than you would have if you had bought better, longer lasting stuff.
If you're buying something for a temporary purpose that you mean to throw away anyway, then sure, go to Wal*mart. But if it's something you buy regularly or want to last awhile, it's a very bad choice.
