The problem with the salt system pool is it has to have a lot of circulation to work properly,other than that it will stay slimy,water turn green and water will stay warm,unless you have a strong pump system it will be ok but if not you will have to shook it ever day and after use when water settle's,the down side to that is constant shocking will deteriorate your liner faster.

Salt pools are chlorine. The salt added to the water is ran through the system which produces chlorine. The plus side to a salt water pool is that you don't need to maintain it as often. Once you get the levels right, you have no need to change it. The biggest problem is rain water. You have to keep adjusting.

There is a website called, Troublefreepools.com. Join the forum there and ask all the question you want. Folks on there are very happy to help. It will save you a ton of money. I maintain a 14,000 gal. pool for less than $200 for the entire swim season.

I have the salt water system for my above ground pool....I love it....as long as you shock it everyday u will not have problems,vacumn it and shock it. No chemicals....Last year i had problems but i was not shocking it everyday.Good Luck

We have a salt water hot tub. Have had 3 reg chlorine pools. But with a hot tub using chlorine, I had terrible skin problems. NONE with the salt. As a matter of fact both DH & I says our skin feels great & have no scale look after getting out. We have a friend in Knoxville, TN who has an inground salt water pool & has loved it for years. But my skin is so Much better not using a reg hot tub!

I had one 2 years ago i thought it would help my daughter drying her skin out well my pool was fine until i got the salt filter it gave so many proublems my pool got black stuff in it and was hard to get rid of i drained the pool and took the salt out and had no proublems after brought it back good luck.

I would like to know if anyone has one or sand filter system, or can give me some info on how they are.
