Central and West will be the ? marks.

Central has the athletes to win (they looked last year when my team scrimmaged them a year away from being solid,) but and a huge but will the players come out? Boles has the potential to be a superstar for someone but he's wasting it. If he plays for Central and toughens up he could be the spark they need on offense. Their D has to get better as well.

West will be the true ? mark in my opinion. They have the talent off that JV team to be good but can they put the pieces together? Last year I seen them at a 7 on 7 and they looked nervous and not confident and it showed come contact time and they went on to improve but not be solid like they could have been. This year when I seen them they seemed more confident and ready. Will it mean they have a solid year, who knows? But I hope they have a winning season as I feel they are due for one.

Starmount's struggled on JV the last few of years, they only won 3 games last year on JV I believe and lost to Elkin and North Wilkes. The 2014 JV team was mediocre at 6-4 They could have some potentially tricky years the next couple of years especially if the talent isn't there. Good coaching can make up for it but if the talent isn't there coaching can only do so much. East's the hot place in that area and until they got knocked off it could be a while.

If Adkins keeps East together they could be a powder keg to deal with. They got to avoid injuries and handle success well enough to have a consecutive winning year.

Ashe will still be Ashe but their success depends on #'s and the defense.

North Wilkes's season will depend if they have someone to produce points. Loosing Boles might have been a funeral pyre for that class. If he stayed he could have carried them to some decent years potentially. The kid who took his spot's okay but he's no Boles. They have some big boys on the line and from what I heard around they are talking their D to be better than normal for NW so we will see about that. They have got to produce points this year to contend.

Alleghany will be Alleghany a tough hard hitting team but they will still be a little while from getting to where they need to be.

After seeing Elkin a few days back it would make sense to me if they finished last. Not much size in the skill spots but decent speed. Line play and #'s will make or break them. The QB can sling it but if he's running for his life every week it could be tough. They also have to get the run game going they can't depend on the pass 100% of the time.

As for final position wise I'd say East and Central top 2, Star and Ashe for 3 and 4 either way, West could be in top 2 if Central has a freak bad year, North and Alleghany for 6 and 7, and Elkin last.

If the Boles kid is back at Wilkes Central, then they could very well be at the top of the heap. He is a game changer.

West Wilkes may surprise some teams. East will be strong. Starmount, i dont think will be the scourge of the conference like they use to be. Any of those top 5 will give each other a run for the money this year. Could be interesting.

I wish Boles would just settle down and play ball somewhere and quit wasting people's time. He's a good talent but all this drama is useless and making him a waste.

Anyways, I got a peak at Elkin yesterday at a 7 on 7. They are gonna unusual for an Elkin team. Most of the ones I have seen are always big or tall but this team's neither of those things. They were very small for an Elkin team but they got a fast WR or two. The QB has gotten better and can chunk it. Their center's not very big either. It'll be an interesting season for Elkin.

Spoke to an assistant from Galax yesterday. He said neither Boles nor Horton were still over there. They had been there working out with the team, but apparently the Galax folks were too hard on them. I guess they are back to Central. Anyone heard anything else.

Heard that WC has a lot kids not playing football mainly skills players

They are already at summer workouts with the team. Unless something happens and they come back to Wilkes they are in Galax, Va. They have family in the area as well.

The kids are definitely going to be at Galax Va. Just talked to some of the kids on the football team at Wilkes Central.

You saw that on NCPreps. I think the guy that posted that was trolling.

The word I heard was that both boles and horton were transferring to Galax Va. Cannot attest to the accuracy, but that is certainly going around.

Does WC still have the Boles kid from North Wilkes? I know he moved there last year.

Seen West Wilkes at a 7 on 7 last week. They were improved from 2015 when I last seen them but they will be very much a running team, looked to be out of the pistol still. I'll get to see them again Thursday.

Whats happening at Wilkes Central. (2) good backs recently move out of state/district?
