Michst......you make some valid statements . I am a JK supporter also, however, I would like to know who calls his plays. I really think a 2 year old could pull them out of a hat better than they are called at East.. For instance...last night East went from 1st and 10 to 3rd and 27 and ran the same 3 plays all 3 downs. The offensive line couldnt block a bunch of 5th graders on a blitz. As far as tackling goes, whoever is teaching these kid how to do it......don't know how its done. With that being said....until these things get addressed...East will be 3-8 to 5-6 next year

It takes alot to build a program at small schools like East. JK is doing a good job at East with what he has. The guy is super smart with his X's and O's. He doesn't have the West Montgomery or Ablemarle athletes. Hes going to get it done in time. The kids are buying into his program. It just takes more than 2-3 years and people dont realize that. Especially you arm chair quarterbacks. Also the MVAC conference isn't as bad as people make it out to be. 3 teams advanced in the playoffs last night. How many advanced from the all mighty NW1A?

East's problems,IMO were key injuries and 2 key transfers.1. Colby Holcomb projested quarterback, done for the year after the 2nd scrimmage, with knee surjery..2 starting halfback Andrew Nance.missed last 5 games due to foot injury.3 starting fullback Omar Everett, moved to Atlanta GA.in August.4.Back up QB, Chris Ward missed first 4 games with separated shoulder. Which meant East used Nance at Qb first 4 games. 5. Clint Henderson moved to Elkin the day before our first game.
That being said.....IF everyone had been healthy all year long, AND no one transfers out ......maybe we play better in 3 more games and eek out 2-3 more wins.

East has potential to be decent next year but everyone said the same thing about them last year and they only won 2 more games the year before. I'll believe it when I see it.

He needs to be. A record of 6-28 in three years on varsity isn't nothing to be proud of. The fact that they have that record and play in one of the weakest conferences in the state is folly.
Just because he was an assistant on a state title team doesn't mean he's quality head coach material...

Central I wasn't surprised. I predicted it would be 52-14. East I expected a better showing. What a waste.
East's coach will be on the hotseat..

Waste of time and money, if you do not win at least 7 games you should not be in the playoffs. Not much can be learned by getting stomped after a 4 hour bus ride.
