I think the whole conference is down. If North can be in second conference is down

They are down a little bit this year, but they are young.

Very true statement oldblueridge. I will agree 100%. It hasn't been 100 years for me, LOL but it does feels like 50 years. There is no fear or even respect at times. It is an entitled bunch, not all but several. Parents support is 100% for their child, no matter the situation which has changed since my playing days. My parents would not have supported me acting like an idiot or being disrespectful. I am not sure my parents would even have approached the coach. It would have had to been pretty bad. Appreciate the good conversation. Good day!!!

CWMS. Appreciate your perspective. Obviously it is different opinions that makes the world go round, and the ability to express them is what makes America great. Being an old guy who just happens to be a fan of high school athletics in general, and high school basketball in particular, I continue to struggle with changes. I try to think back to my playing days 100 years ago and try to figure out how my coaches might have handled an unwillingness to buy into the team concept, or more importantly how my dad might have handled it. Another example of perspective would be if folks were not concerned about what has already happened. Again referring back to 100 years ago as my kids might say. I was able to play my entire career without a technical foul or and unsportsmanlike penalty. Not that I was that good of a kid, I just feared my coach/dad to much to live in the moment. I think sometimes the very changes that worry me come from the idea that not only do kids not fear their dad, but they also don't fear the ramifications from the coach because dad/mom will take up for them. Maybe that is not the case, but to an old guy it sure feels like it sometimes. Ultimately, I hope they get this issue corrected and these young fellows grow up to be responsible adults. I do not wish any harm on any young person, but I don't like to see the game that I love continue to take black eyes.

No rules on here oldblueridge, enjoy your fact finding mission. Just wanted to add my 2 cents, even more on bashing kids than anything else. I would call something a problem or habitual if it happened every game but I call it a loss of composure if it happens a couple of times across 12-15 games. If it continues, yes there would be a problem but lets see it play out. If the coaches can't make the kids realize how they hurt the team when it occurs, the state will intervene anyway and not allow them to play. Not all kids will buy into a program and learn valuable life lessons along the way. They enjoy living in the moment.

CWMSMOM. I did not realize that asking a question on a chat forum was such a violation of the rules of order. LOL. With that said, multiple technical fouls on players happening multiple times this early in the year is more than just a loss of composure, that is a problem. As long as the coach recognizes that and takes appropriate disciplinary action, it will be an opportunity to learn for the future. If it is swept under the rug and characterized as just a little loss of composure, it will be the beginning of a problem. As far as going to see it in person, I have no need. All I wanted was for someone to confirm or deny what I had heard. Thank You.

Very sad to see people (BigBlue) come on here and bash kids or enjoy the fact they are facing some adversity. For the other who are curious about rumors (oldblueridge), come watch the games and judge for yourselves. I have been to a few games and saw some composure lost late in a couple of games but nothing that was out of control so I would come watch before asking for opinions on this forum.

I have replied back to BigBlue in the past so it is fitting that he/she makes the comments they do. Not sure about oldblueridge but there is some serious jealousy from BigBlue. Continue to enjoy making fun of 14 year old freshman, shows a lot of class.

WC wins and they are the greatest team in the world. WC gets beat and people like you can't take it cause your little Johnny got beat. Players play, Coaches coach, and fans like you cry foul when you get beat! Loved the pic in the JP of that kid getting it put back in his face! LMAO!!!

That is exactly right I have never seen so many nonsense fouls called on a team ever and I've seen quite a few basketball games in my life time, strange thing is it's always a one sided whistle which makes it even more interesting and then these techs being called for reasons even the refs don't know, very, very interesting and they have had it in for one of Centrals players especially,I think maybe I'm seeing something wrong in my old age and realize people all around me are discussing it and saying the same things I'm thinking, these refs need to call a fair game regardless of who's playing!

Is there any truth to the rumors that you are just as likely to witness a technical festival as a basketball game at Wilkes Central. I have not been there, but I have heard that they have had issues a couple of times this year.

I think these young men you are speaking of are outstanding basketball players, can't wait to see what they look like by their senior year, the nest is certainly lucky to have them! Keep up the great job freshman and don't let ignorant people get you down and as for the parents of these young men you have done a outstanding job raising two fine young men and I'm so happy they are a part of the eagle family!

Daddy ball at central in the basketball program? That's the biggest joke I've ever heard. Shows how much you know about the Wilkes central basketball program. Not a **** thing obviously

I love how people get on here like BigBlueFan and talk about things they no nothing about. There is no daddy ball at Wilkes Central you would know that if you knew one ounce of what you were talking about. The players that have played the last couple of years didn't even come to tryouts! Guess that has daddy ball all over it! It is apparent to me that the people that get on here and talk about daddy ball have never coached. The time and energy that is put into coaching has to be about all the kids not just one. I praise all the coaches and their families out there for giving back to our kids and the community! I wish this site could be used more for uplifting of our community instead of the belittlement of it!

Far from upset BigBlue. Love getting a laugh from comments on here and throwing out a jab or two myself. Just having fun and creating more nonsense. Those ball players at Central that you speak of don't need their dads to become stand-outs, they will do fine on their own. Their dads just did what every other school district did and create some opportunities for their kids to play some extra ball besides school ball and Rec ball. And by the way, I think those other school districts travel programs were ran by dads as well. Not sure you will find non-parents to give their time with the commitment that has to be made. "Glory Days" and "Pay to Play" comments are pretty funny, not sure either of those (since I do think I know who you are talking about) need glory or money to get through life.

So you must pay M.M. and J.J the money they ask for so your son can play on the travel team and on the school team. I think you must protest too much. Sounds like I hit the nail on the head as for you to get so upset. Those two have coached daddy ball for years in a lot of different sports. Open your eyes and don't be blinded by paying for your son to play so you can live out your lost HS days.

This is funny! Your comments just prove you got hammered by them at some point while you were keeping up with them. If you knew anything about the program, the underclassmen who aren't playing didn't even tryout so they chose their future on their own. As for daddy ball, there are no daddy's coaching their kids on varsity and the one son on JV comes off the bench so I'm not sure how you constitute that.

BigBlueFan, I know it sucks to get trounced by a bunch of freshmen but don't blame it on daddy ball or you can if you want too. HaHaHa

Daddy ball has made its way to DubC. Have watched this group for a few years coming up and it is all about daddy ball and paying to play on their travel team. Get ready cause you got it for four more years.

What's the deal with this program in Moravian Falls? What happened to all the kids that were on JV and Varsity last year that did not return this season who were underclassmen?
