Super true Commish..Indeed Mountaneous task ahead. East definitely has a better shot than Wilkes Central however. But both East and Wilkes Central are in for the battle of their football lives with Swain and East Lincoln. East is the #1 seed. But all that really know high school football should see East as the underdog. That's just keeping really real. East will need to play near perfect football for 2 halves to beat Swain county which by mostl accounts is the standard by which all Nc 1a football in the western part of the state is measured. Anything is possible..Lets get em Cards!!!

Shelby also pulled their starters against both Wilkes schools and were missing their starting QBs in both games oddly enough. No team in our conference can stay within 25 of Shelby if they decide not to pull starters. Our conference/ county just doesnt have the athletes that school/ county has. Wilkes Central had a good win against a very average Newton team. They are well coached but also been getting smashed all season and just have average athletes this year. Nonetheless thats a good home win for WC. I wont be shocked if our teams left will be hitting the hardwood and mats after this Friday. Both have major tasks ahead. Good luck to both though!

In North Wilkes Defense, Shelby didnt beat them by 40, it was 42-20 and NW scored the 2nd most on Shelby out of any body they faced that post-season, N Rowan scored 21 against them the following week. However I will agree all the Wilkes teams that made the playoffs this year, deserved to be in it.

Playing Swain will be tough no doubt. But EW defense is this teams identity. Hopefully we get #14 back by Friday.
WC has a tough game as well against E. Lincoln. Offense will need to be firing on all cylinders.
EW & WC are Wilkes County kids and they deserve our support next week more than ever.
So stop with the "haterade" and get off your butts and support these kids please.

Are you seriously a North Wilkes fan? If so the only team in Wilkes that didnt deserve to make the playoffs is the one that didnt. But seriously when North had their amazing season 2 years ago, Shelby came to North Wilkes and beat the brakes off of them by 40 or so. Shelby will win their 3rd straight title this year.

Next week for East Wilkes will be super brutal. East has never beaten Swain. I definitely would have loved to face Starmount again rather than Battle Tested Swain County. That's for sure.

West earned their way into the playoffs. Anybody that knows highschool football should know how good Shelby is. That score has nothing to do with whether or not West should have made the playoffs. Shelby is just that good.

NOBODY cause the rest of the teams that still in East Wilkes, Wilkes Central will see their dreams come to a close next week.

West Wilkes should not have been in the play-offs in first place got beat by 62-0.

East Wilkes 48 ... South Robeson 14 ... 2nd half of the game was mostly their JV that moved up playing

Tough loss for Ashe. Maison left the game early headed to the hospital and it seemed to take the starch out of 'em so to say.
