Hampton's from Ashe Co, he played for Beaver Creek back in the early 90's when they were competitive. He's there as long as he wants to be pretty much.

He did the same for us at N Surry too, he's a good coach who knows his football.

Is West's coach not up to par? Heard a lot of different things from there..

I think it's crazy what Ashe's coach has done for that school an community. Wish we could have him down here at West, overheard one of our coaches talking about how he will never leave due to what he makes at Ashe. Heck I would throw everything at him to land him, we were all talking about how someone with a deep pocket will be coming for him soon.

stars?? hmm nobody in the conference has stopped vic Williams in 2 years. hes a senior yea call him the next leo or trae, don't bash wc when they have beat everybody with a senior running back haha Darrel, leo g, trae a, dustin t, Cameron w, and no vic w, yea wc has a big shot of winning conference because their running back is the best not to mention Andrew Bynum (Cameron W) cousin is back up which will see a lot of playing time

Seen Ashe and Forbush today but not North Wilkes besides seeing them walk around.

Ashe is running the air raid now. Their skill guys aren't huge like in the past at all but look okay. They ate up Forbush's and East Gaston's D like it was nothing. North Forsyth put them away for the most part.

Forbush had an okay O but nothing else. It looked like N Wilkes only had 14 or so players.

Seen on the Wilkes Journal website that everyone is excited about Turner so that's a + for them.

He will prob run the spread since he ran the O at Patton last year and that's what they ran there.

From what I heard Ashe changed their O up to from the I to either a Spread/Air Raid set up and will be a pass team mainly. What Hampton ran his last year at North Surry before he left to go to Ashe.

Starmount's lost their O coordinator Mack Hodges to us at North Surry but they got Funderburke so it's a win/win for both of us. They will prob be a young squad this year.

I'll get to see Ashe, N Wilkes, and Forbush at out 7 on 7 monday.

Thinking probably be Ashe and Starmount at the top for sure. Ashe defense will be stout again this year but not sure how running game looks though.

from what I've heard pretty good! I think the new coach will change the whole attitude around that place. They have the talent (always have) but getting them to play as a team instead of a bunch of individuals wearing the same jersey is the key. If he can make that happen they will be fine!!

I think that WC will definitely have a bounce back year and probably sweep the county competition (What little there is this year)!! Ashe and Starmount will win it all this year!

Is Randall Trapp playing for West varsity this year? He's Good He's Fast And West Will Lose Another Great Player If He Doesn't play! I've heard he isn't gonna play has anyone else heard this is or is it just a rumor?

J. Triplett will be the quarterback for west varsity. He is the best west has and will help carry the team. Looking forward to the season, it cannot get here soon enough.

Who will be West's Varsity QB this year? A lot depends on your quality of QB for a team to be successful.

I seen every team's Var/JV last year except Starmount and Alleghany. Ashe was solid line and size wise, their JV had a good D but their O was middle of the road. Ashe will prob win the 2A easy. Star needs to overcome East and Alleghany, maybe Elkin

N Wilkes was all on O on varsity, their JV team wasn't anything remarkable. They upset West Wilkes somehow, that was their accomplishment for the year. E Wilkes had an awesome JV team just no depth and injuries bothered them. If they didn't fold the squad they very well could have won the JV title, Ashe vs. East on JV would have been awesome. W Central didn't impress me much when we scrimmaged them besides their QB/RB. W Wilkes's JV had a good running QB but that was it.

Elkin's JV had okay speed but nothing else. We had 2 safeties in the first half on them, they only scored when we botched a punt. Alleghany I really have no clue about. They had a good year last year and return many of the players but they need a new QB and their line might be young.

Elkin's O will be their biggest + if it works out. If they stay in the spread it will be all on Strickland but if they go I or Wing who knows. When he got hurt against N Wilkes that killed them last year. Same with North Wilkes, they lost the QB and WR they got the spread for.

Going out on a limb here. North will not finish last.

I'll stick with my projections, we'll know soon enough.

Dont count out Elkin .. If no one transfers from last year. They can beat anyone.. (in this conference).. That being said ,, After this Sr. Class graduates , Elkin will be bottom dwellers for a while. They should finish top 3 this year..

It all depends on which teams stay healthy going into conference. For some teams the loss of 1 or 2 key players could change the outcome of the season for that team.
