3 acc teams in sweet 16, with 3 more acc teams to go. Could be 6 teams in sweet 16 from acc. Acc games record this tournament so far = 9-0.

oldblueridge | Posted 9:14 am, 03/20/2015 | Bad day to be an official as well. Lots of controversy surrounding a goaltend that they did call to determine the outcome of the UCLA game, and then equal controversy over a goaltend that they did not call to end the NC State game. Being an official was a lot easier in the days before all of this slow motion instant replay. The press will make a big tadoo about both situations because they were the last play of the game, but there were many other opportunities that the teams and officials blew during the game that will go unmentioned. I really do hate it when officials have controversial situations to end games, because if they do blow the whistle they are a goat and if they don't blow the whistle they are a goat. Was the UCLA shot gonna graze the rim? Maybe. did it have a chance to go in? absolutely not. Did Abu touch that ball on the rim? According to the video that I saw on yahoo, yea it looks like he did. Long story short, they called a controversial goaltend and will hear about it for a week. they didn't call a goaltend in another game and will hear about it for a week also.

There was no goaltending in the NC State game. I recorded the last three minutes of the game, player went up and moved his hand back after he notice it was going in. Also, they showed real close-up of his hand and rim, there was about 1-2 inch space in between. Don't know about the UCLA game cause didn't watch it.

Impressive ACC= 6-0 after 2nd rd. Or 1st rd. Whichever. If they win next game for each that'd be 6 acc team in sweet 16. Says alot about how good acc was all season. Makes me think how middle to bottom half of acc teams would fare in other conferences. Maryland was middle of pack last season and finish 2nd in league play and semifinals of tournament.

There were five different angles shown mulitiple times? Abu never touch the ball, he got within 1-2 inches but it was obvious he didn't. His hand was just below the rim the last time the ball hit the front and dropped? It was also reviewable. The other game.... yes that was a controversial call. LSU blew it plain and simple.

It was weird. I remember someone saying at the half that you never knew what LSU team you would get. That was an understatement.

Shoulda, I am actually a hybrid. I went to NC State, but have always been a Carolina fan. This means that I am a bit unusual in that even though I am a die hard tarheel fan, I pull for the wolfpack in all other games. I sat there on pins and needles the whole game. Spent most of the time encouraging my good friend who is a die hard wolfpack fan. he had given up shortly after halftime. I do not remember a team choking quite as badly as LSU did. I think I am right in saying this. LSU missed their last 11 field goal attempts as well as their last 6 free throws. They just quit. Very happy for the wolfpack, but LSU flat out gave that one away. Maybe they will be equally as fortunate against Villanova.

NC State got lucky, lucky, lucky, and it had nothing to do with the officials. LSU absolutely collapsed. I say this, by the way, as a Wolfpack fan.

As a fan I've seen alot of tournament games but never remember the fleid being this close. Was a time when unc fans could bet unc would win vs Harvard by 20+. Unc was up 16 and got lazy. But like uab over big 12 tournament champions iowa state or no insulting but mercer over dook, or last season belmont over unc. Any of those games you would have bet on big name teams.
