What happened to North Wilkes? I see nobody has picked them to finish in the top three of the conf. Are they on a 20yr losing streak again?

How much is Ashe going to beat Alleghany by? Alleghany gives up very few points per game, but hasn't faced a high powered offense like Ashe. Does anyone give Alleghany a chance? Is the best two teams in the conference from the mountains??????

SHK. I don't see North Stokes on the Starmount schedule.

Ashe unless something crazy happens will probably have their best season ever this year. They have way too much talent on O to be beat unless a magical solution is found for it. Their D is mortal but their O is herculean for a Mountain Valley team. 'm happy for Coach Hampton though. Loosing to Ashe wasn't fun since we almost came back and we both scored a ton but I'd rather loose to him than anyone else.

Time will tell if they stay 2A or not. They gained a lot of numbers in the ADM last year, if it keeps up they will be a 3A in Watauga's conference.

Elkin's JV's did win this year and broke that loosing streak, they beat Surry Central. But yeah they will prob struggle for a while. I wonder how long their coach will last. Their QB's never been a star in my eyes but he can move alright and dominates the slower schools.

Sessoms is doing the same he did at North Stokes, win with a lack of athletes. He has a more negotiable conference this time around than he did at N Stokes, no Mount Airy or East Surry's, but they have Ashe and Starmount.

I think East Wilkes/Alleghany could be very good. Whoever wins that will be Starmount's main challenger for the 1A.

ACHS, great 3-a team in a 1a-2a league!

Get your Popcorn ready because Ashe will put on a show in the MVAC. To be honest im not sure if anyone will be able to keep up with them this year. Coach Brian Hampton has built his program the right way and right now are on pace to end a perfect regular season. You can tell that this is a Brian Hampton coached team, they are very disciplined, aggressive and intelligent. I look for Ashe to keep rolling and dismantle all the MVAC schools on their way to a Back 2 Back MVAC Championship.

White American, good for them. Then when they get to the playoffs they can get beat in the 2nd around again.

The Elkin QB is definitely NOT a stud!

Elkin will bring up the rear of the conference with East and North Wilkes.

I hear some rough years ahead for the Elks.

Central has some outstanding athletes. 10 is by far the best in the county and probably the conference. A lot can be attributed to youth...I'm not ready to hang the coach yet as that would be unfair. He deserves a shot.

Ashe is head and shoulders the favorite and you can't count Starmount out. Elkin is going nowhere. I put a lot of faith in them last season. Your offense can score 100 points a game but it doesn't matter when your defense gives up 200. Their QB is a stud.

Sleeper pick is Alleghany. They are solid and very well coached. The kids really buy into the system. Central and East are others to watch out for.

It's Ashe's year overall. They have more talent than a majority of the other teams got. They will lose this week and prob won't again until the playoffs.

Starmount's probably the only team that could beat them but they are too inconstant to keep up with them. They play good one week then choke the next. Plus Ashe will have the depth edge on them by at least 25 players. Alleghany doesn't have the athletes to challenge Ashe's pass O but they have the size to hit them on the line. Their JV's look to be somewhat decent.

As for the rest I don't know yet.

Elkin has good athletes but not much of a line. One of their better lineman, #52, got hurt against us and had to be carted off, and Kody King hurt his knee. I think if they get King back they will win a few. West Wilkes is better than last year but how much is the ?. East has talent but no coaching to help them over the hump. Haven't seen North Wilkes yet but I will next week.

Central has decent athletes but they aren't being coached good. They should have won last week but they let Surry Central come back. They don't know how to finish or use their skills the right way yet. They should be Wilkes Co champions unless they choke against East.

Where do you really think that they should try different players or what are your thoughts on what needs done?

Baseballfan. I know you're trying to troll so good try. I think most Central fans are just frustrated. There is talent on the team but when you don't make adjustments and tinker with different positions you're not gonna go very far.

Central will be fine and should beat the county teams...As they should. That is not something to brag about. You won't hear it from me. As for the rest of the conference it's Ashe Alleghany and Starmount. The rest of the conference is wide open. Good luck to all.

You forgot the team with the most Athletes. I predict Wilkes Central with go undefeated the rest of the year and dominate in the MVAC . Then go deep into the state playoffs, Maybe win state!!!!

Central has a powerhouse team and the best coach around!!!

They will beat everyone left by at least 30 points!!!
