Football or Daddy Ball?

DK&B

Posted 10:22 am, 08/03/2015

At this age group there is between 15 and 18 minutes of actual play time. You must keep your core players in, So the new ones or so so players must rotate in and out. So 5 or so stay in, 6 rotate. Take 16 minutes / 6 , That is a little over 2 1/2 minutes per kid.
Some players play in all, But all should play some.

Football is just a game nothing more than that. Just so happens to be that some parents tend to forget that and take football a little to serious. If your kid doesn't get any playing time that coach usaly has a reason for it. I've always thought a coach is so post to play his best players. I've learned as I have gotten older some parents blame their kid having no playing time on "Daddy Ball" or claim its politics.
Badgering your kids coach behind his back doesn't help get your son playing time on a football field and will only teach your kids to blame there faults on something or someone instead of taking repspossibility for there own actions.
Yes coaches are so post to teach the game. Parents that are on here you're a coach do want to win while your coach or be put in the slaughter rule every game? Because you thought playing time was more important than winning. You want your kids to play for a winning or losing team?

There is a sertoma in the EW district for 1st and 2nd grade. My son plays for Coach Amp. He is a great coach. Dealing with 20 or more wild and rowdy boys is a tough job. My son doesn't play all the time but he does get to play some and for that I am thankful. This is his 1st year playing and Coach Amp and the assistant coaches have taught him a lot. Bradley don't let these people get to you. I have seen you coach and you are good at it and so are the other coaches for your team.

AMEN!!!---Fatboy69

Let the kids play football, who cares if it's sertoma or yellowjackets. They will all play together in high school anyway. The main thing everyone need to focus on is that the kids get taught the fundamentals of the game.

THANK YOU TO ALL COACHES IN ANY LEAGUE FOR HAVING TO PUT UP WITH THIS CRAP!!!

Just saying no need to show sertoma anything brad. I said it before I don't care wich group the kids play for just that at the younger ages everyone should get time on the field , not just 1or 2 plays per game.

People, these are 1st and 2nd graders. Ease up. They got all the time in the world to be super stars. Geeezz. If it's this competitive online, I can only imagine game time. Really, you'd think you guys were from Yadkin Co....

WOW! And we wonder as parents and adults what is wrong with our kids attitudes. Stop for a second and read this trash some of you guys are posting. Sertoma or Yellowjackets.....it does not matter!!! Let the kids play if they want, for who they want and us adults need to step back and let the kids be kids. Doesn't matter what your background or social class is......this is very pitiful!

Why are our kids now a days rude, disrespectful to adults, lazy and think they are better than others???? They are only a product of their environment......are we providing the environment they need to be successful or are we showing them that when something doesn't go our way, we whine, pitch a fit and put others down and it makes it all better??

If this is what we are teaching our kids when they are young, guess what they will turn out to be like when they are adults? Just saying!

If you step back and examine the problems that arise in the Yellowjackets program or the Sertoma program, I'd be willing to bet anything that they all originated from an adult. Not a kid.

Have a great day!

Probably more than u think. I enjoy coaching so much and don't even have a kid playing nor do some of my other coaches so it is a huge time sacrifice. I made it a personal goal of mine to not show favortisim and I think I do a pretty good job of that. We practice monday tuesday and thursday. 5:30- 7:30 at peace haven church come see for your self and please please bring a sertoma team with you so some can show those guys what real contact football is.

I wonder how many good potential coaches out there don't dare grace the field because of having to deal with crazy parents.....sad.

This is for lazerone! Yes the Yellow Jackets let all kids play no matter if they are poor or well off. They do have their own field at the VFW. Dr. Laws saw too it. He had them kickoff the school fields after they refused to go along with His plan for Wilkes. The field is actually very good and the VFW has really help provide practice fields. Their field house is far better than anything at the middle schools. Come down and look at it sometime. Oh you might want to look at their football equipment. It has far better than the equipment used by Sertoma. All funds taken at their games has been used to provide newest and best equipment. The Yellow Jackets also helped start the 1st and second grade league in Yadkin County.

NO learn yours since Saturday according to what I read this is when this happened correct so how much can he change in two days? I was there yesterday seemed liked the same coach he treats all the kids the same I think, you have to consider these men are doing this on their own ti,me taking away from their families, consider their wives?, their jobs, they are giving up their Saturdays there are numerous things you have to look at and your putting them all down they use their own money too believe it or not so KNOW YOUR FACTS MY DEAR :)
