Those "coach pitch" kids you say shouldn't have an all-star team are probably way more talented than you are or ever were at sports. I've seen some of those games and they appear to be way more exciting than 9-10 year olds and on up.

Ahhh, youth sports, brings out the best in people! Just curious ,have you ever tried to officiate any type of youth sport? It is a very difficult job, you can't make a wrong or right call in the lovely parents eyes. Try looking at it from an outsiders view......it's "coach pitch"......stupid to even have all-stars for it.

First of all, great job by all the kids. They played great, we have some real talent here in the county. I was there watching a family friend who was playing on the NL B team. They was playing the AL A team, which has some really talented players. This was a great back and forth game, until the final inning when the umpire decided he wanted the AL team to win. Two blown calls gave them 5 outs to work with, the AL team won by 1 run.

I left at that point, but I heard this morning that the shenanigans wasn't over. Apparently that same umpire made a call that benefited the AL A team again. With 2 outs and the winning run at third, there was a play at first in which he called the runner out. Most all of the people I have talked to said he was safe. From there it turned ugly with some parents being thrown out while cops came on the field.

It is just odd that the same umpire made so many poor decisions in favor of the same team, in the last inning both times. Is there some sort of fix in by the rec dept or this umpire? Was any of you guys there that can verify the information I was told?
