If the weather affects a team this much, then you do not have a good team. Ashe fans need to realize that playing weak teams makes you look great until you meet an average team that stomps you.

Trojan I disagree. When you control the line of scrimmage it doesn't matter what offense the other teams running. It starts up front. WC is a very athletic team this season but their line play is below average. Bowers picked the Eagles apart.

When your offence is all in the air you stand a chance of running into a good team that has athletic DB's that will challenge your receivers and given the conditions during the game, it just didn't work out for Ashe. I think they have a great team this year but are limited to their offence attack. Alleghany game was a lot closer than the score with them but at the end of the day Ashe had the "W". Elkin and Alleghany was a nail biter and AHS had the chance to drive the ball down and come away with a victory at the end of the game but Elkin made the stop. They are a solid team and it should be a great game to watch. Ashe will be happy that the weather will be better for their offence and I believe that will make a difference in the game.

I guess after Ashe's game with Elkin you high country boobs will say Elkin is a bunch of thugs.. They may beat you worse than the Rams did. If Ashe had played any good team they would have had a loss before they got to SHS. SHS this year is just an average team that whipped Ashe pretty good.

Dirty? Ya think? I recall a very cold night at Ashe Co about 6 years ago that involved a hearty butt whooping of ACHS at the hands of the Rams. On that night, our star running back was targeted all night and it didn't involve pats on the back. The intention was to put him out of the game and possibly the season. It was such an ugly game that one of their players came in to the locker room post game to apologize for his teammates behavior.
Starmount is no more dirty than any other team.

I heard Ashe threw the ball 40 or more times with 3 ints and one run back for a td. ST ran for almost 300yds. Ashe got whipped 40-19. I never understand why a team would throw that much in a steady rain.

Well we have an answer to the question now. The reports of Starmounts demise were greatly overstated. Who would have thought that Elkin and Ashe would be playing the last game of the year with Elkin having a chance to claim an outright conference championship. Certainly not me.
