Commish,
I'm a North fan. I'm a fan of the boys basketball team, but I don't support the coach. Don't confuse the two. As for what you do and do not care about, I didn't ask you. Why? Because I don't care.

wow, somebody is so bitter over the boys playing competitively. I am not Berens nor am I one of his "group" I am a big fan of wilkes county sports and more so NW. I love our school and enjoyed my kid attending there and one coming soon. you need to Relax and be more supportive. I wasnt the one that got rid of you, nor do I care. I didnt hijack any thread but was commenting on the standings from the previous post. I will refrain from replying back to you from here on out. you have issues.

Commish,
You know what the North fans are really saying? They say that the JV boys coach (Call) tells Behrens what to do. They say that Call calls the shots. Not sure that's any better, but that's what they say. Stop trying to pull it off like you're just one of the fans. We all know you're either Behrens or part of his little group. And stop hijacking the Ashe post. Here's the deal with the boys basketball team at North. If they lose its because they have players that have no talent. If they win, it's that great coaching staff they have. The coaches think highly of themselves.

Agreed its been shaken up the first half of conference season. WW still has some time to turn it around and has played well at times, i expect them to make a push the 2nd half. NW has done very well and exceeded expectations thus far (us fans opinions). Dk if they have enough in the tank to keep the run going but great job thus far!. I expect Ashe to slip some as well and maybe lose 2 more games somewhere. The conference has parody and anyone can be beaten any given night. I think Starmount will come out on top when said and done. good athletes over there.

Wilkes County is lucky to have anyone willing to coach there. The people know everything and if you are not from there you know nothing. I have seen many coaches from many sports leave the county because of the character assassinations and outright slander. They go elsewhere and win. It is simple..Wilkes is its own little planet and only occasionally is anyone else allowed to visit.

You mean you didnt know about the almighty Wilkes County National Championship !!!

Nothing Compares to it !!!

I can't understand all the people up in Ashe.

For years they complain about Grubb, rightfully so.

Comparing his record to Marc Payne's, Grubb won 31% of his games in his three full seasons; Payne won 69% at Ashe high. (Polar opposite results)

http://www.maxpreps.com/loc...679df68ddb

In the business world anyone who put up similar numbers with a drop over previous performance of someone in the same position would have been shown the door much sooner. If the parents had anything to do with his leaving, it seems it was about time. It sure looks like it was time someone took a stand if the school wasn't going to do it.. In fact Nathan Colvard is 3-4 since taking over. With no varsity coaching experience and being thrown in to this mess, he already has a higher winning percentage than Grubb.

Now that he's gone all I've read on Gowilkes is how poor Coach Grubb was done so wrong. Either the Ashe fans are bi-polar whiners that can't be satisfied or Scott Grubb has his extended family posting in this thread. I'm betting on the second option.

No doubt he'll be coming down the mountain to find a coaching job next year. Let's hope he doesn't land in Wilkes. Wherever he lands he can prove the naysayers wrong or prove his family right.

Its my understanding that Grubb resigned, he wasnt forced to resign!! All the coaches I had and know would not have quit mid-season!! But told the players and parents not let the door to hit them on the way OUT!!

Well we are now a few weeks away from the debacle that resulted in a coaching change at Ashe County. There have been 2 teams played under the new system that were played under the old system. Lets look at the results and measure the success of this move..

First time around Ashe lost to Avery at Avery by one point. Under the new system, Ashe gets handled at Ashe by Avery.

First time around, Ashe beats Bunker Hill by 9. Under the new system, Ashe gets beat by Bunker Hill.

Technical fouls are up considerably.

Those are the facts, each of you can make your own assessment of how it works out when we let players and parents run the program.

Are you referring to the North Wilkes AD?

Biggest mistake......opening up the check book for the AD, in my opinion.

What's wrong Behrens? Can't take it? You're the one that needs to go, and you will. Give it time. you're such a joke.

LV is drinking the moonshine again, she needs to worry about supporting all programs instead of badmouthing the Boys program. Let it go, just like they let you go. Forgive her Ashe fans for hijacking your thread

Not disagreeing with Lady Vikings or oldblue, I agree that Ashe and there administration has made a huge mistake and it is a terrible thing for HS Basketball. Other schools deal with similar issues or different issues that cause their programs hardships, I just didn't want the "stones thrown" so easily when your favorite school maybe having issues as well. My post was merely a reply to BigBlue who has chosen to bash everybody across the sports threads.
