Didn't quite understand the comment made by wceagle94, head coach at the middle school for the past few years has not been a daddy, its been a teacher. So what daddy ball are you talking about?

So did they do something they shouldn't have?

I think that may be what I'm thinking about. Official practice never began before Aug. 1st. Everything else was camp or open workouts.

This is the first year of spring practice in the state of North Carolina, entirely different than what you just described.

My son went to camps with high school players during his 8th grade year. He was involved in workouts as soon as school was out and he became a freshman. Official practice began August 1.

I would think a fine will suffice, no need for suspensions.

They participated and I have heard it is going to be a fine for the school and possible suspensions for coaching staff.

The OP didn't say they participated, just stated they were brought in......

The county AD would be out of his pay grade on this one. The state would enforce penalty in this case. He would have to be on our side. But hey, if we broke the rules, so be it. We are still going to play football this year! Why on earth would we have 8th grade boys at a high school practice? They aren't supposed to attend anything until school is over. I'm afraid Daddy ball is heading our way with this freshman class. Lots of known suspects moving up this summer. Going to be very interesting

If it is a Central infraction, county AD would love to be ALL over it and enforce any punishment!

In June aren't 8th graders considered enrolled in high school? Would they actually be playing football the next season and be eligible for workouts? I'm pretty sure that my son went to workouts all summer before he went into high school as a freshman and he didn't go to Central.

County AD doesn't care about NCHSAA rules unless it benefits him.

It was 8th graders from CWMS who participated and is against NCHSAA regulations. Photos and comments were posted by the parents to Facebook so there is proof of the infractions. Let's see what happens from not only the county a.d. but the state.

Either way it is against the rules!! Only students enrolled in the high school can participate in Spring football practice per NCHSAA. I am sure Greg Davenport wouldnt allow that to go on at WC!!

Let's see if anything happens to the Eagles who brought in 8th graders to spring football practice. Good idea when you are breaking the rules to tell people to not post it on Facebook.
